Ales Stenar, a megalithic monument on the hills above Kåseberga in southern Sweden, is well worth a visit, any time of the year.
You can park by the harbor, or just north of the little village.
When you reach the top of the hill you can see 59 huge stones. They are placed in the form of a ship, 67 m long and 19 m wide. It is believed that this ship formation was built approximately 500-1000 AD.
The monument was restored in 1917 and 1956. Several stones had fallen over and part of the ship was covered by sand.
The view over the Baltic Sea is amazing!
