Last week we wrote about willow in Skåne. What can you do with the branches that are copped? You can weave them! Here is one example of weaving living (not dried) branches into beautiful trees:
Little Gardens in Katslösa on the Swedish south coast grow their own willow and offer willow weaving courses in early spring.
They grow different types of willow, with different colored stems.
Who doesn't want to learn how to make these beautiful trees?!
There are 2 options for courses:
Attend one of the courses at Little Gardens. The February courses are already full but there are some spots left at the end of March: Saturday March 25 at 9 am and 1 pm and Sunday March 26 at 9 am and 1 pm.
Your own private course, minimum 5 people. Little Gardens will bring all the material and come to your place! You arrange the space (garage, or similar) and a snack. Courses can only be held in early spring (February/March) since you have to weave before the leaves are showing.
Great birthday gift or team building event for a company!
During the course you start weaving a small tree for a pot to learn the technique. After the break you weave a larger tree that can be planted in the garden. The price is 500 kr per person, including all materials needed for 2 trees and the snack during break (for private courses, you arrange the food).
